Welcome to DRPT’s web site. We are part of the dynamic transportation team led by Secretary of Transportation Pierce Homer. As part of this team, DRPT’s commitment is to deliver a high quality public transportation and rail transportation system to the Commonwealth through exemplary service and assistance to our transportation partners and operating agencies.

The programs we support and provide enable us to work toward three primary goals:

• Congestion relief and increased capacity
• Economic development and the free flow of goods
• Mobility and transportation choices for everyone

We will continue to work toward a balanced transportation system in Virginia to ensure that the best alternatives are available to everyone. In partnership with transit and commuter service agencies, our freight and passenger rail operators, and their customers, we will work cooperatively to move more people and goods more effectively and efficiently throughout the Commonwealth.
