I-95 Transit and TDM Plan

The congestion on I-95 has been steadily increasing over the years and, unless something changes, will only continue to get worse.  Mulitmodal solutions are needed and the I-95 Transit and TDM Plan will help identify options to address the anticipated increase in congestion along the Corridor.  This approach is proactive, as money becomes available, the Commonwealth will have several options identified.

DRPT’s planning team will determine cost-effective transit and TDM improvements for I-95 corridor for 2015, 2035 and beyond 2035.  The study has the following objectives:

  1. Preserve and increase transit capacity, use, and operational efficiency in I-95 corridor
  2. Increase transit levels of service in a cost-effective manner and provide increased service to activity centers
  3. Maintain or improve corridor transit market share
  4. Maximize transit utilization of HOT/HOV lanes

Formal public hearings were held in September along the corridor to present draft recommendations from the study.  The final plan can be found to the right.
