Virginia Rolls Out Nation's First Mobile Commuter Stores. New Technology Coupled With Down-Home Service Delivers Convenience.

On April 2, 2002 DRPT rolled out an initiative to make it easier for Northern Virginian commuters to take advantage of the myriad of mass transportation choices available in the metropolitan D.C. area.

The new concept came in the form of two brand new Mobile Commuter Stores housed in refurbished commuter buses ... literally stores on wheels that bring the same services available in traditional commuter retail outlets to the customers, instead of requiring the customers to travel to the stores.
